Activity

In this activity teachers will take on the role of an historian who tells the tale of Arkansas. They will surf the Internet using basic movie maker tools to locate still pictures, videos, songs, and other artifacts that relates to these lessons to create and produce a movie maker video to showcase their great state. The finished product will be similar to the introductory video but with and Arkansas theme.

Outcomes and Objectives
  • Teachers will be able to locate and open the Microsoft Movie Maker Program.
  • Teachers will demonstrate an understanding of importing different types of media by locating photos, video, and audio clips and importing them into movie maker.
(Clips should represent facts discovered about Arkansas early years, the geography, the major rivers, the counties, and Arkansas’
natural resources).
  • Teachers will be able to identify six major features on the movie maker interface.
  • Teachers will be able to recall at least two formats for each media that can be uploaded to movie maker
  • Teachers will choose transitions and effects to complement their video.
  • Teachers will use their creativity and intellect to design a visual medium to showcase a portion of Arkansas.
  • Teachers will become more comfortable using technology in the classroom.
